Based between Paris and Vienna, Giampiero Celäni Piendlbach is a renowned Italian illustrator, designer and artist.
'‘I am Traveler, not a Tourist”
A tireless lover of travel, Giampiero loves to see the world mostly by foot, rarely if ever separating himself from his illustrated Carnet de voyage. Giampiero’s creative universe is shaped by his love for long travels, history, nature and storytelling. He records these in his Carnet de Voyage, illustrated with maps and calligraphy of his own creation.
He translates his travel experiences to paper using pencil, ink, and watercolors. An integral and distinctive part of his illustrative technique is his integration of calligraphy. He loves to reimagine Mittel-Europe and his African travels through his artwork and imbues these scenes with the warm and poignant atmosphere of Mediterranean summers.
You can often find him in historic cafés, mainly in Vienna, Paris or Triest, where he often draws with cappuccino.
His wide reaching creativity brought Giampiero to the eyewear world. Since 2011 he has collaborated with different eyewear brands based in Italy.
“At the heart of the bohemian lifestyle is a kind of romantic eclecticism, a nonconformist approach to art and living”
